Narika is a non profit organization in the East Bay area that provides culturally responsive support and services to domestic violence survivors of South Asian descent. Embracing the notion of survivor empowerment, the organization's dedicated staff and volunteers work with a variety of community partners and offer a continuum of services and resources ranging from domestic violence advocacy, legal referrals, crisis counseling, safety planning, case management, economic empowerment to financial literacy.

Assistant Economic Empowerment Advocate
$28/Hr
20 Hrs/Week
Part-time, Non Exempt Position
Location: Primarily in person, with some remote hours- Fremont and Contra Costa County
Duration: March 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026
Job Summary: Work closely with the Executive Director and Narika Senior Economic Empowerment Advocate to design and facilitate economic empowerment sessions for Narika clients and our community
Benefits: Eligible for paid time off and 401K
Essential Functions:
Support Narika’s Economic Empowerment Advocate in designing, recruiting, screening and facilitating in person and virtual SEED workshops and learning circles, including workshops in Contra Costa County
Design, recruit for and co-facilitate Dari speaking Lifeskills group
Enhance Narika’s SEED curriculum based on client feedback and evolving programmatic needs
Conduct one-on-one sessions with survivors as required, as guided by Senior Economic Empowerment Advocate
Create partnerships with collaborative providers of economic empowerment, job training and financial literacy resources
Attend weekly Narika staff and advocacy meetings, as hours allow
Support evaluation, reporting and documentation and compliance requirements for grants
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Minimum 1 year of demonstrated work experience such as finance, economic empowerment, job training, mentoring, banking and/or a similarly related field and/or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as finance, accounting,etc
Fluent in Dari and Urdu
Completed California state mandated 40 hour domestic violence advocate training or be willing to complete it within three months of joining.
Familiarity with South Asian culture and community.
Knowledge of issues involved in intimate partner violence, experience with direct service strongly preferred
Ability to work with diverse people and communities with awareness of socio-economic and cultural barriers.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to dynamic situations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid CA Driving License and insurance.
Eligible to work in the U.S
Clear background check.

Director of Development
$40/Hr
20 Hrs/Week
Part Time, Salaried
Location: Fremont, CA
Job Summary: Work closely with the Executive Director to assess, develop, manage, organize and strengthen Narika’s finances and operations, including processes and policies, train Narika finance and operations staff, including incoming Finance Manager, on established financial and operational systems and policies.
Essential Functions:
Fundraising Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive development plan that includes individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, and annual appeals. And participate in the Board Fundraising and Development Committee.
Donor Stewardship: Build and maintain long-term relationships with current and prospective donors. This includes identifying potential major donors and moving them through the "gifting process."
Social Media and Communications Oversight: Plan and manage Narika’s social media and newsletter communications, prepare press releases
Community Collaboration: Create meaningful relationships and collaborations to enhance Narika’s visibility and opportunities to present Leadership/Board;Represent Narika at key events
Event Oversight: Plan and manage signature fundraising events like galas, auctions, and community engagement activities.
Leadership & Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor Community Engagement Manager and other volunteers to support development activities
Board Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to align fundraising goals with the organization’s mission and report on progress.
Data & Operations: Manage donor databases (CRM) to track contributions, analyze giving trends, and ensure timely gift acknowledgments.
Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or nonprofit management
Experience: 3–7 years of professional fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing major gifts or hitting revenue targets.
Certification: A CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential is preferred.
Skills: Strong storytelling and public speaking abilities, proficiency in CRM software (like Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or Bloomerang), and excellent project management skills.
