Under the HEAL initiative, Narika aims to create community circles at the grassroot level and spearhead health and wellness workshops to foster holistic self-care and well-rounded growth among women. The vision is to galvanize community leaders as well as community members into being advocates of self-empowerment, health and healing.

An understanding of community needs and wellness are the key to creating an environment that is positive and thriving. The Bay Area’s demographics provide a unique opportunity in community outreach to provide a platform for immigrant populations to access culturally sensitive services as well as create a support system which understands their challenges and obstacles.

The HEAL Program is designed to create a platform that will make it possible for immigrant women, especially from South Asia, to interact, exchange and support each other. The program integrates wellness and enrichment workshops.

The workshops will be facilitated by experts in their respective fields that will lead and encourage discussion, debate and dialogue about empowerment, domestic violence and the role of community in overall prevention efforts. The workshops will provide attendees the opportunity to be agents of change in the community and support women who might be actively experiencing challenges, abuse or domestic violence.

Past Workshops and Subjects Include:

Self-Defense

Meditation & Mindfulness

Healthy Cooking & Eating

Dance & Dance Therapy

Yoga

Visual Arts & Theater

This program is free of cost and open to all.
