Anitha Chakravarthi


Anitha Chakravarthi is an indirect tax director at Ebay. Anitha has been involved in various non – profits ranging from legal aid to educating the girl child. She has served on a number of boards and truly believes that we can all be vehicles for change in the world. Being an Aussie of Indian origin living in the US, Anitha considers herself a global citizen and loves to travel and learn about the different ways people live. A self-confessed foodie, she loves to cook, bake and try new restaurants.


Vidya Iyengar


As a mental health clinician, Vidya Iyengar has spent most of her career leading programs serving children, individuals and families. She is a experienced clinical administrator and has developed programs for patients afflicted with mental illness and substance abuse disorders. She has lead the Contra Costa County Health Services Reducing Health Disparities initiative as the Ethnic Services Manager and has facilitated the development of the County's mental health Workforce, Education and Training plan. She has lead multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, managers, and support staff as the Director of Psychiatry in Kaiser Permanente. She is currently employed with Kaiser Permanente as an Administrator overseeing clinical departments in the outpatient setting. She is a self confessed book worm and enjoys watching every CSI series on TV. She is a runner on the weekends and loves camping with her family and their beloved husky.


Faraz Sattar

Faraz Sattar is a managing partner at Accretive Wealth Management and has been in the financial services industry for more than two decades. He has been involved with several non-profit organizations and helped them organize events to cater to the greater community at large. These events have empowered women and children to highlight their talents and harness their energy for the greater good of the society. Over the course of years, Faraz has built a good relationships with the local leaders to achieve a harmonious society of immigrants and citizens. Faraz’s interest include travel, golf and music. He is happily married with three beautiful daughters.


Asha Subas

Asha is a litigation attorney with the law firm of Kennedy, Archer & Giffen and previously practiced litigation for over five years at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati. Over the course of her career, she has represented a wide variety of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to early stage startups. Committed to volunteer and pro-bono work, she has represented clients in numerous legal areas especially relating to domestic abuse and the rights of women and children. Asha loves to learn and explore and is always on the lookout for new travels, foods, music and stories.


Jaya Padmanabhan

Jaya Padmanabhan is an award-winning journalist, essayist, and fiction writer. She is the author of "Transactions of Belonging,” a collection of short stories published in 2014. The stories in the collection are centered around women and lay bare the devastating truths that lie at the heart of grief, redemption and recovery. Jaya is a columnist for the San Francisco Examiner and is a member of the SF Writers’ Grotto. Her work takes her to borders that have no walls.


Vanita Chawla

Vanita has been a practicing psychiatrist in the community since 2005 after graduating from her residency at Stanford. She received her bachelors degree from Brown University and her medical and public health degrees from Tulane University. Throughout her education, Vanita has been passionate about and dedicated to womens’ health issues, always embarking upon research projects and initiatives involving women’s health. She worked extensively in the women’s wellness clinic at Stanford and also started a women’s psychiatry group upon completing her training. Recently Vanita opened up a practice in Los Altos titled Women and Wellness, a practice dedicated to supporting and empowering women to become their best selves and to find freedom. She holds the South Asian community of women and the fight against domestic violence close to her heart. Her compassion for women is a driving force in her life. She loves to work out hard with strong women by her side and to constantly give love to her family and friends.


Sudha KV

Sudha is an entrepreneur who co-founded and led a Silicon Valley startup. She has taken a business through a successful M&A, and been part of a board that reported into one of the largest public company boards in the world. In her career, she has structured and re-structured organizations for scale and growth, responsibly managed cash flows, and defined the company's strategy, successfully entering and penetrating large markets as a small startup, competing against industry giants.

She has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an MS in Computer Science and Engineering from the Univ of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Seema Mittal

Seema Mittal is a licensed architect and has run her residential architecture and interior design practice firm, Perspectives Design, in the South Bay for the last twenty years. Designing dreams, by creating or transforming homes that foster a close-knit family life, is her passion and mission. She has completed over 200 projects in diverse styles using a creative and iterative design process of weaving together her ideas with that of the family. Commitment to green principles and bringing the outdoors in, are key features in her design. She has an M.Arch from the University of Minnesota and a B.Arch from IIT, Roorkee.

A passionate patron of the visual and performing arts, she volunteers as a set designer for the productions of the Bay Area Drama Company. She travels as often as she can, on an insatiable quest to experience global culture and architecture. She has always been a strong believer in women’s empowerment and joined the Narika board in 2018.


Sangita Sungu

Sangita Sungu is a licensed psychotherapist at Kaiser Permanente for the last 8 years and has over 10 years of clinical experience. She completed her MSW from New York University and BA in Psychology & Minor in Public Policy from University of California Los Angeles. She specializes in trauma and depression therapy for adults. She holds a leadership role with the Kaiser Family Violence Prevention Program.  In the past she had her own clinical private practice providing therapy to adults and couples. Sangita is passionate about working with the South Asian community and women empowerment.In her spare time she enjoys hiking, baking and trying different cuisines.
