API Legal Outreach : API Legal Outreach (formerly Nihonmachi Legal Outreach) combines the commitment of a non-profit, community-based organization with the professional services of a law office. It has worked against the long-standing barriers which have denied Asian and Pacific Islander people equal justice and equal access to the legal system.
Asian & Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence : The Asian & Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence is a national network of advocates; community members; professionals from health, mental health, law, education, and social services; survivors; scholars; researchers; and activists from public policy, community organizations, youth programs, immigrants' rights networks, communities of color, women's groups, lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender communities, and other social justice organizations. We serve as a forum for, and clearinghouse on information, research, resources and critical issues about violence against women in Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Asian Women's Shelter : The Asian Women's Shelter (AWS) is a comprehensive shelter program in San Francisco that provides safety, food, shelter, advocacy, and other resources to assist Asian battered women and their children in a culturally and linguistically appropriate model.
California Partnership to End Domestic Violence : The California Partnership to End Domestic Violence acts as a Leader and a Catalyst for innovative, long-range plans to end domestic violence.
Donaldina Cameron House : Cameron House is a faith-based community organization serving the changing needs of Chinatown and the Asian community of the San Francisco Bay Area. They provide assistance to youth, adults and families in need through counseling, peer group support, crisis intervention, leadership development, education and advocacy.
East Bay Asian Pacific Islander Coalition to End Domestic Violence: The East Bay Asian & Pacific Islander Coalition to End Domestic Violence is made up of diverse API agencies, domestic violence organizations, and community members in the East Bay. Many members among the Coalition are recognized leaders of the API Communities of the Bay Area and are among the programs nationwide that address violence against women in the Asian Communities. The Coalition is made up of 11 member agencies that are dedicated to address the needs of the API Community and are committed to creating new strategies as well as strengthening existing services for non-English speaking API women and children. Coalition members work together to develop a comprehensive network of support that fosters safe and healthy families. Current Atashi Chakravarty, Narika's Executive Director serves as the Coalition Chair.
The Hume Center : The Hume Center provides culturally sensitive and comprehensive behavioral health services to under-served populations, with an emphasis on reaching the most vulnerable among us, including immigrants, the persistently mentally disabled and those with head injuries.
India Community Center : India Community Center is a non-profit organization that strives to promote India culture and values by providing social, cultural, recreational and community programs, thereby uniting the Indian community, and raising awareness about Indian culture in the local community. The center operates two facilities in the Bay Area. Pakistani American Culture Center , PACC: is a non-religious, non-political, non-profit organization working to share Pakistani culture, history and heritage with Americans. We offer classes in languages of Pakistan, celebrate Pakistani cultural and national days, organize music events and offer training on arts and crafts of Pakistan. We are also setting up a community center where people can come together and meet, have fun, and learn from each other.
SAVE : SAVE's mission is to provide alternatives to domestic violence through support services, advocacy and education, and to assist domestic violence victims and their families to end the cycle of violence. SAVE is located in Southern Alameda County, California, but serves clients from any city, county, state, or country.
SEMAH, Inc.: Preventing Violence, Empowering Lives: SEMAH Inc., is an interfaith domestic violence prevention organization, with a focus on the Muslim community. We have a helpline, 1866-99SEMAH, which operates during the week, normally from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We provide referrals, peer counseling and language assistance to individuals, and to shelters and other agencies. We have given several presentations about cultural and religious diversity and have participated as panelists at regional domestic violence prevention symposiums. We sponsor and facilitate workshops to bring awareness of options for both survivors of domestic abuse and abusers to break the cycle of violence. SEMAH participates in the State of California sponsored program Faith in Violence Free Families where we work with faith leaders to address domestic abuse in their congregations and communities. Shimtuh : Shimtuh (literally, "resting place" in Korean) is the first Korean domestic violence program in the Bay Area. It is a joint project of the Asian Women's Shelter and the Korean Community Center of East Bay.
South Asian Sisters : South Asian Sisters strive to empower, support, and educate South Asian women around the world with easily accessible, up to date, and accurate information about health and health-care, legal procedures, education, and global issues. It is a a collective for Women of Color to turn to in times of need, and to encourage and advocate solidarity among all people.
Trikone : Trikone is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people of South Asian descent. Founded in 1986 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Trikone is the oldest group of its kind in the world.
Vibha : Vibha is a 11-year-old, volunteer driven organization with a mission to enable child development. Through action centers in over 30 cities nationwide, our 1500 volunteers work to raise awareness in the local community about children's issues and to generate funds currently supporting more than 56 projects in India and 8 projects in the US.
